Solutions for Turbidity in Sludge Filter Press Discharge

The turbidity of the discharge from the sludge filter press is a common issue that bothers many customers. Manufacturers have discussed this problem and suggest the following four methods to help resolve the issue.

Leakage between the filter plate and the diaphragm is one of the most common faults in sludge filter presses. The main causes of this leakage include high-pressure flow from the material pump, lack of oil pressure, wrinkles or holes in the filter cloth, and foreign matter on the sealing surfaces of the filter plate and diaphragm. The solution is relatively simple. Depending on the cause of the issue, the sludge filter press can readjust the pump pressure and flow, increase the oil pressure, and clean the flat filter cloth frequently during the filtration process.

If the filter cloth has holes, it should be replaced immediately and cleaned with a nylon scraper. The debris between the sealing surfaces of the two plates should be flushed after each shift and cycle. If the filter cloth seam is opened and a problem is identified, remove the filter cloth and resew it.

When selecting a filter cloth, it is crucial to choose the right type based on the characteristics of the filtrate. Improper selection can lead to the filter cloth becoming too dirty, which will worsen over time and cause issues across all parts of the filter press. If the filter cloth is too large, it must be replaced with one of the appropriate size.
