Membrane Flip-Board Filter Press

Product Description

The membrane filter press differs from a conventional chamber filter press primarily by the addition of two elastic membranes on both sides of the membrane plate. During operation, a high-pressure fluid medium is injected into the membrane plate. When the filter chamber is filled with filter cake, the filtration process stops, and an expansion medium (such as water or air) is introduced into the filter plates. At this stage, the entire membrane expands, applying pressure to the filter cake. As the pressure increases, liquid that can pass through the filter cloth is squeezed out, achieving secondary dewatering of the filter cake and significantly reducing its moisture content.

The liquid collection flip board beneath the filter press is an essential component of the machine. The automatic liquid collection flip board comes in two types: mechanical and hydraulic. Its structure consists of mechanical transmission parts, a main frame, and stainless steel/PP carbon steel panels. During operation, it collects the liquid leaking from the bottom of the filter plates, ensuring cleanliness underneath the machine and preventing secondary contamination of solid materials. When discharging the filter cake, it also serves as a mud guard.

Working Principle of the Automatic Liquid Collection Flip Board

The automatic liquid collection flip board consists of an upper and a lower flip board. During operation, the two flip boards interlock to minimize liquid loss. When discharging filter cakes, the two panels separate under the guidance of a guide rod, opening into a nearly parallel state.

Applications

The membrane flip-board filter press is widely used in sludge and wastewater treatment. It can achieve a minimum filter cake moisture content of below 30%. Compared with conventional chamber filter presses, it can increase the solid content of the filter cake by more than two times. This significantly reduces filter cake transportation costs, allowing the cake to be directly burned in power plants, effectively transforming sludge into a resource and wastewater into clean water.
